Oooh, shiny!
The bar between the galley and the salon. Lightly sanded in prep for a new coating. I’ve never been quite satisfied with the coatings we’ve had on it. They’ve never been quite hard enough, just a subtle softness to the finish. Today was time for a new product I simply had to try when I saw it: Super Glaze, made by Rustoleum.
We covered it so that we wouldn’t get any dust or debris in it while it cured. And so we’d quit messing with it (we popped some of the air bubble with toothpicks after we first poured it, but there comes a point in the curing where you just need to quit screwing around with it!).
I am extremely pleased with the final result. It is truly mirror-like. Plus I think it’s going to be very hard, as the product is designed for bar tops. Salon table is curing now – pics to follow. For now, it’s hot tub time!
