Magic Brock has installed a couple of new systems on KJ this week. First one is the new camera system. We now have views of the engine room, side decks, aft views from lower deck and upper deck, plus the main forward view with an infrared spotlight (helpful for spotting crab pots at night as we make our way into anchorages).

The monitor has a DVR system for recording. We haven’t figured out how to access it remotely online, but that is something we can do in the future – just have to figure out the settings.

He mounted it rather nicely with a flip-down monitor that’s seamless when not in use. The anemometer is also up and functioning (screen mounted on the left).
He finished the speaker system on the aft deck too. It’s integrated into the whole sound system, so we can now have the same volume inside as well as out (rather than blasting the inside system to be able to hear it on deck).
It’s been a week of pulling wires around the boat. I’ve nearly managed to clean up the disaster that he leaves in his wake (not a complaint; that’s just my job). And it’ll be nice having the new features onboard.
KJ cam, anyone?
