Heat, Heat, Glorious Heat

Ahhhh…warm again. And being cold for days definitely makes you appreciate the warmth when it returns! I’ve stayed out at my mom’s place for a few days while we worked on the heater here. The problem turned out to be an accessory fuel pump that the previous captain and the mechanic had installed. That pump is not actually necessary and what was really going on at that earlier point of repair was that the combustion fan was wearing out. Adding another pump masked the situation a bit, but didn’t really fix it.

We’ve taken the fan apart and yes, the brushes are wearing. We can replace them for now (cheap and probably a 5-10 year fix) or go with a newer brushless fan (slightly more expensive, but a permanent fix). For now, it’s running fine, the extra pump has been removed (along with it’s annoying clicking), and it’s balmy in here again.

I get almost giddy when it warms back up and am just as happy as can be!

Went to the Seattle Boat Show yesterday, both the floating bit on Lake Union and the inside show at Qwest Field. Was actually hoping that I’d go into labor with enough walking, but despite exhausting myself, no such luck.

Any time now is fine for delivery, although the doctor would like to get another two weeks out of me. I’m mentally wrapping myself around one day at a time. By the end of the day, I tend to be just a little cranky, tired, and uncomfortable! We’ll certainly be done within a few weeks anyway and that’s helpful. Our little boy has turned breech again (he flips on an almost daily basis) and I think that we may just do a C section if that’s still the case when it’s time. I’m starting to plan how to manage on the boat post-surgery if needed and the biggest challenge will be clambering into my bunk. Brock may make some stairs for me, so that I won’t have to hoist myself up with my much-abused abs. We’ll figure it out one way or another!
