Fisherman’s Terminal
Came down from Everett today with a few friends, getting ready for the fireworks from Lake Union tomorrow night. Yes, I managed to score some pretty sweet no-cost moorage at the south end from which we can watch the fireworks from the Space Needle ~ opportunities like that should not be passed up, no matter how queasy I feel at the thought of docking her on my own. We made it through the locks today (now that would have been beyond me at this point, but I didn’t have to do that part) and had a little crowd watching despite the fact that it was dang cold out.
Now we’re snug and tucked in at the dock (with 30 amp service ~ how decadent is that?), waiting for tomorrow’s adventures to begin. I do find it a bit disorienting to move the boat. Everything on the inside is the same, but north has changed and the views out the portholes are all confusing. It’s odd, but being attuned to direction/location is critical to my piece of mind, apparently. Guess I’ll just adapt!
I know how weird that north/south feeling can be.All the best for 2008
I always feel that those waching at locks are similar to the Knitting womwn who used to sit unconcerned watching the executions in revolutionary France :o))Oh! Happy birthday.
