Not A Great Start To The Weekend
Fuel leaking out of the injector pump. Which was all well and good, albeit potentially expensive. Then a piece of one of the tools broke off & disappeared into the engine. So instead of an injector pump, it’s looking more like dismantling the front end of the engine.
I’m putting on my best Search and Rescue eyeballs and going looking too.
The day started with a not good phone call from the fire department at 7 am: http://kirkland.komonews.com/content/fire-damages-historic-argosy-cruise-ship-kirkland-marina
This is my favorite Argosy boat & Brock’s baby. He oversaw the refit and knows every last bolt on that thing. We don’t know the extent of the damage yet, but it’s significant.
Rough day all around.
That was a sad sight.Suewww.sailingsunline.com

Hows the diesel pump repair going?
Fire on a boat, is there anything worse? We had a scare like that when our neighbor turned on his diesels, which smoked about like that. Well we were just pulling up into the marina, and he was docked behind us, and well, you can imagine the shear terror of seeing smoke billowing out of what looked to be our boat.
Shame about the argosy looks serious at least some mechanical damage and probably much smoke damage. I guess the fire department haven`t found the cause of the seat of the fire as yet, but it will be interesting to know, boor old Brock two babies to worry about aren`t you lucky to have him. I hope all goes well with KJ`s injector pump! I can`t believe that you have the same problem and I did a week ago? it must be the season for fuel injection pump failures. best of luck with the repairs Brock.
