Pictures From Another Era
Look closely at the background. See anyone you recognize? Granted, she didn’t have her flying bridge then and her mast was much taller, but yes, that’s our girl Beagle (later known as Katherine Jane) floating in the distance.
I was tickled when my new friend Jim (who motored over to visit up in Friday Harbor) found these old photos and sent them along.
He played around with regattas back in the 50’s and that was where he first made acquaintance with Miss KJ.
We’ll see him again in September at the Wooden Boat Festival in Port Townsend, where we have been accepted as an exhibitor in the show. I’m really looking forward to that trip! I’m sure I’ll learn a tremendous amount ~ the folks there really know their stuff and I’ll be sure to pick their brains over cocktails on the aft deck.
Thanks, Tony. I’m assuming you meant the Eldoy. Appreciate the link! Susan, I was bummed ~ the link has been disabled and I couldn’t get to it. But yes, I’ll keep up with you! T , come on down for the festival, girl! You know you always have a bunk on KJ ~

Oh what a treat it would be to go to that.
Thanks for posting on my blog. What a small world this is. Turns out the boat in my blog post is the Malibu, built by the grandfather of a friend of ours. Article and photos here:http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/pacificnw05072006/living.htmlEnjoy the summer,Susan
